Pralay is a Rock band from Mumbai, formed in 1989. Pralay was earlier known as Greek. Pralay is the first ever Indian rock band to be considered for a Grammy Nominee in the world music category, for their debut Urban Reality. Anurag Kashyap's "Paanch" was loosely based and inspired by Pralay. They do music that comes free flow by blending in all musical genres / styles / sounds, specially the eastern sounds with the western edge. They haven't played live as much as they would have had loved too. Generally the songs are about various emotions but most importantly its about their personal journey, experience of life and what has affected them emotionally / mentally. The album "14" is all about their 14 years of existence as a band and what it takes to play rock music in India, a place where musicians are treated as wasted people / drug addicts, where long hairs is a taboo.
