Imperfekt is an Alternative Rock band from Mumbai, formed in 2007 and has undergone immense growth musically since. Although categorized as rock, their music is best described as alternative rock with metal influences and a psychedelic feel. Imperfekt came into being when high school buddies Jai and Darshit because of their similar taste in music decided to form a band. They found the perfect vocalist in Dhruv, Jai’s brother. Soon, Monil and Abhishek stepped in when they met Jai at a college fest to complete the band which eventually was named Imperfekt. Every individual is in a constant struggle to achieve perfection - whether it’s perfect grades, the perfect girl, the perfect car and more importantly, the perfect life. However, it’s only a matter of time before realization strikes that this pursuit of perfection is vain and will only lead to dissatisfaction and misery. This is the thought that went behind naming the band ‘Imperfekt’ as none of us needed to be perfect and professionally trained musicians to make music that expresses what we feel.
