The Earth Below is a Psychedelic Rock band from Mumbai, started in 2010 as a solo bedroom project of multi-instrumentalist Deepak Raghu from Kozhikode (Kerala). Deepak Raghu is a singer, songwriter and drummer based in Mumbai. Deepak is best known as the drummer & singer for Sludge Metal band Shepherd as well as one half of industrial-experimental project Rat King. He is or has been the drummer of the Primitive Death/Doom Metal band Dying Embrace, Progressive Black/Death Metal band Maelstrom, Heavy Metal band Millennium, Stoner-Doom Metal band Bevar Sea and Heavy Metal band Pillbox 666. He also built a reputation as an in-demand session drummer for the artist/band like Kryptos, Cauchemar, Mad Orange Fireworks, Alexis, Blushing Satellite, Allegro Fudge, Floyd Fernandes, Karan Joseph, Hoodoo Gas, Leslie Charles Trio, Borderblast, White Mug, Sanjeev T, Lou Majaw, Ananth Menon, etc.
